Attestation/Authentication/Execution of Documents (such as Affidavit, Power of Attorney, Consular Documents etc.)

General Guidelines

Attestation of various documents such as Marriage Certificate, Driving Licence, Letter of Introduction, Power of Attorney, Educational Certificate, consular documents are attested by the High Commission.

Documents originating in Bangladesh must first be attested by the authorised officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka. Please check with the concerned authorities in Malaysia for their specific requirements for authentication/attestation of the documents.

Documents originating in Malaysia first have to be attested/authenticated by the concerned authority (i.e. Foreign Ministry and other related Ministries of that country) before its submission to this High Commission for attestation.

For attestation of Power of Attorney/Affidavit (Holofnama)/Statutory Declaration or similar documents, the applicant will have to appear in this Mission in person along with her/his valid/expired Bangladesh Passport The applicant will have to sign the ‘Power of Attorney’ in the presence of the authorised Consular Officer of this High Commission.

Consular Fees

  • Fee for this service will depend on the size of the document.
  • For one set (not more than three pages) RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No. 564427102268. Cash/ATM booth deposit/Online cash/fund transfer will not be accepted.
  • For issuing Birth Certificate for newborn babies RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No.564427509825; Cash/ATM booth deposit/Online cash/fund transfer will not be accepted.

Attestation of Driving Licence and Issuing a Translation of the Driving Licence

Requirement

  • The photocopy of the genuing Driving Lincence to be notarized;
  • Photocopy of the DL to be attested from the concerned Bangladesh Road Transport Authorities (BRTA) in Bangladesh and
  • Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka
  • BRTA original money receipt and MOFA delivery slip to be submitted along with the attested DL;
  • Photocopy/scanned copy of the DL/certificate will not be accepted;

Consular Fees

  • For attestation of Driving Licence RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No. 564427102268.
  • Cash/ATM booth deposit/Online cash/fund transfer will not be accepted.
  • For issuing a translation supporting letter in favour of the attested Driving Lience RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No. 564427102268.
  • Cash/ATM booth deposit/Online cash/fund transfer will not be accepted.

Passport Attestation, issuing of letter on Data correction

Requirement

  • To issue passport related letter the applicant must submit all passport along with the requisite letter issued from the concerned Educational Institutions/Immigration Department of Malaysia;
  • All serial passport to be submitted along with MRP verification report from the MRP wing of the Mission;
  • If lost the passport in Malaysia the applicant make a police report in the local police station and attest it from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Govt. of Malaysia in Putrajaya;
  • If the passport lost in Bangladesh the applicant must report in local police station in Bangladesh and attest it from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka;

Consular Fees

  • For attestation of single passport RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No. 564427102268.
  • Cash/ATM booth deposit/Online cash/fund transfer will not be accepted.
  • For issuing a letter related to the passport and it’s data RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No. 564427102268.
  • Cash/ATM booth deposit/Online cash/fund transfer will not be accepted.

Attestation of Nikahnama, Married/Unmarried certificate

Requirement

  • The marriage related documents such Nikahnama, Marriage Certificate, Unmarried Certificate, Divorce Certificate should be submitted to the Mission after attestation it from the Ministry of Law, Dhaka and Consular Wing, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka respectively;
  • Scanned copies of the nikahnama/married/unmarried certificate will not be accepted;
  • To marry foreign women (especially Malaysian women): To marry a Malaysian woman an Affidavit (consent declaration) of the applicant’s legal guardian (parents) needs to be submitted prior to attest it from the Ministry of Law, Dhaka and the Consular Wing, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka; Fake signed Affidavit will not be accepted; After investigation if it found fake the Mission will take necessay legal steps against the applicant;
  • Unmarried Certificate to be collected from the concerned Office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) with attestation from the Consular Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka;

Consular Fees

  • For attestation of Niakhnama, married/unmarried certificates RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No. 564427102268.
  • Cash/ATM booth deposit/Online cash/fund transfer will not be accepted.
  • For issuing unmarried certificate of single status letter RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No. 564427102268.
  • Cash/ATM booth deposit/Online cash/fund transfer will not be accepted.

To issue a family letter/Relationship letter

Requirement

  • In order to get a family letter or relationship letter from the Mission the applicant needs to submit his original marriage certificate/nikahnama/birth certificate after attesting those from both the Ministry of Law, Dhaka and the Consular Wing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka;
  • One extra photocopy of all documents along with visa page of the passport to be submitted for official purpose
  • Original Passport to be submitted to verify the authenticity of the documents;

Consular Fees

  • For getting a relationship letter RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No. 564427102268.
  • Cash/ATM booth deposit/Online cash/fund transfer will not be accepted.

Attestation of Educational Certificate/Academic Certificate

Requirement

  • All Education degrees / documents of Bangladesh must first be attested from relevant educational institutions/universities/board of education and Ministry of Education and from Consular section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, Dhaka before submitting for attestation by the High Commission of Bangladesh, Kuala Lumpur.

Consular Fees

  • For attestation one set (not more than three pages) RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No. 564427102268.
  • Cash/ATM booth deposit/Online cash/fund transfer will not be accepted.
  • To obtain a letter regarding admission/immigration purpose RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No. 564427102268.
  • Cash/ATM booth deposit/Online cash/fund transfer will not be accepted.

Attestation of Power of Attorney (POA)

Requirement

  • An Application letter addressed to the Consular officer, Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur mentioning the purpose of service with applicant’s contact details
  • The original “power of attorney document” and a set of photocopy
  • Two copies recent passport size photographs of both the Principal and Attorney
  • Executant/Executants have to appear personally with Bangladesh passport (valid or expires)/National ID;
  • To sign/attest a Power of Attorney deed from this Mission the applicant needs to submit the documents on a stamp paper/plain paper describing information of both the principal and the attorney as per his passport/NID;
  • Description of scheduled land/properties along supporting document on schedules properties such as (original dalai, Khaitan, namejari etc.) are needed to be submitted;
  • Name and addresses of two witness (one from Malaysia and one from Bangladesh) are to be mentioned along with their signature;
  • As per Govt. instructions/order the Mission will not sign/attest Power of Attorney on Divorce related matters;

  • Fee for this service will depend on the size of the document.
  • For each set of documents, (not more than three pages) fee for the first page’s purpose RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No. 564427102268.

Letter of Introduction (LOI) for visiting Signapore only

Requirement

  • The applicant will submit the original passport along with one photocopy of the passport along with confirmation letter from concerned Educational Institution/colleges/universiteis/companies;
  • Letter to be collected from the concerned institution/companies mentioning purpose and period of visit to Singapore addressed to the First Secretary (Consular), Bangladesh High Commission.

Consular Fees

  • For issuing a LOI/Singapore letter RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No. 564427102268.
  • Cash/ATM booth deposit/Online cash/fund transfer will not be accepted.

Police Clearance Certificate

Requirement

Please note that the High Commission does not issue Police Clearance Certificates for Bangladesh or Foreign nationals.  Bangladesh nationals may kindly send the following documents to the High Commission for attestation, as these are required by the concerned authority in Bangladesh:

  • An application letter addressed to the concerned (in accordance with the permanent address of the applicant) Commissioner of Police / Superintendent of Police / Officer-in-Charge in Bangladesh mentioning the authorized person’s details who will submit the application and collect from the Police Authority
  • Original Bangladesh Passport and photocopy of the bio-metric page

  • For attestation of passport and authorization an amount of RM20 to be deposited to any Branch of Maybank, Malaysia addressed to the Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur, Account No. 564427509825.
