Family Certificate/ Relationship Certificate
Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur issues an official certificate, if required by the expatriate Bangladeshi nationals, which mentions the relationship with the applicant and his/her immediate family members (husband/wife, children, parents).
This Family/Relationship Certificate may be required for processing the following:
- Family/Dependent Visa
- Immigration related work
- Official requirement/verification of Malaysia authorities
Required documents for Family Certificate/Relationship Certificate:
- a) Original Passport with valid visa/stay permit of the applicant
- b) Copies of Passports/NIDs (online) of spouse and other immediate family member(s)
- c) Duly attested original Marriage Certificate/Nikahnama. (Notarized Marriage Certificate / Nikahnama should be eApostilled. Old original Marriage Certificate/Nikahnama issued before introduction of eApostille system should be attested by the Ministry of Law and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka)
- d) Applicant needs to submit 2 sets of the documents
- Ordinary Service Fee – RM 42 (delivery within 3 working days)
- Urgent Service Fee – RM 63 (delivery on the same working day)

Birth Registration Certificate (BRC)
Bangladesh Births and Deaths Registration Act of 2004 stipulate that birth of any Bangladeshi national must be registered with a designated Birth Registrar (Bangladesh Embassies/ High Commissions/ Consulates) abroad if born overseas.
Birth Registration for newborn child born in Malaysia:
Required Documents:
- a. Child’s Birth Certificate from JPN, Malaysia, which must be attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Malaysia
- b. Photocopy of parents' passports
- c. eApostilled original Marriage Certificate/Nakahama of the child’s parents. Old original Marriage Certificate/Nikahnama issued before introduction of eApostille system should be attested by the Ministry of Law and then by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka)
- d. Printed copy of the online filled in and signed Birth Registration Application Form
- d. Recent passport-size colour photo, 2 (two) copies with white background
Birth Registration for Adult Bangladeshi Nationals
Expatriate Bangladeshi national living in Malaysia whose birth hasn’t yet registered with the Registrar of Birth can apply for birth registration.
Required Documents:
- a. Printed copy of duly filled in and signed online Birth Registration application form
- b. Original Passport with photocopy of the photo page
- c. Photocopy of PSC/JSC/SSC/HSC certificate duly attested by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh
- d. Recent passport-size colour photo- 2 (Two) copies with white background; [Not Older than 6 months]

Same Person Certificate/ Passport data Correction Certificate
This is a certificate issued by the Bangladesh High Commission to authenticate minor correction/changes made in one or two particulars (correction in the name or date of birth or parents name etc) in the applicant’s new passport. The High Commission affirms that minor changes are made in the new passport by the competent authorities of Bangladesh to correct the error in the old passport and states that both the passports belong to the same person.
Please note that the High Commission is not authorized to issue such certificate in case of major changes in many personal particulars/data of the passport holder. In case of major/whole-scale change of personal particulars/data between the old and the new passport, the High Commission will refer the case to the Ministry of Home Affairs of Bangladesh.

General Letter of Introduction (LoI)
A Letter of Introduction is an official document issued to clearly state the identity and particulars of an individual.
Required Documents:
- a) Original Passport of the applicant
- b) Copies Passport and Malaysian Visa /Work Permit/Residence Pass (PLKS etc.)
- c) Any other pertinent document depending on circumstances
If the applicant cannot come in person, he/she may nominate a representative and send a letter of authorization along with all the required documents.

Unmarried/Sigle status certificate
· If a Bangladeshi national wants to have a “Unmarried Certificate”, he/she or his/her parents need to apply to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of his/her district. Deputy Commissioner (DC) has the authority to issue an unmarried certificate.
· Necessary Documents:
- · 1. An Affidavit has to be sworn by either of the parents (father or mother) and notarized by Notary Public
- · Photos of the parent who sworn the affidavit.
- · Photos, all educational Certificates, National ID or Passport of the person who wants an Unmarried/Single Status certificate.
- · After making the affidavit and with all the instruments mentioned above an application has to be submitted to the DC office.
Generally, Deputy Commissioner (DC) office issues the Unmarried/Single Status Certificate after getting a Police verification report.
This Unmarried/Single Status certificate needs to be eApostilled or attested from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka before presenting to the High Commission
The High Commission can only issue an Unmarried/Single Status Certificate after verification of the submitted Unmarried/Single Status Certificate issued by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) office.

Attestation for Police Clearance Certificate
Bangladesh Embassies/High Commissions/Consulates do not issue ‘Police Clearance Certificate ‘. The certificate is issued by Police in Bangladesh. The applicant needs to apply directly or through nominated relatives to the concerned police station of the permanent residence.

- · He/she has to create an account. An active Bangladeshi mobile number will be required
- · He/she will be required to upload all required documents following the instructions on the screen
- · Authorized or nominated person in Bangladesh will be contacted by the respective Police Station for the delivery of the ‘Police Clearance Certificate’.

Attestation of Documents
Bangladesh High Commission, Kuala Lumpur provides with document attestation services to Bangladeshi nationals living in Malaysia. The High Commission attests the following documents:

Documents issued before introduction of eApostille system should be attested by the Ministry of Law/Ministry of Education (where applicable) and the Consular Section of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dhaka.

Power of Attorney (POA)
a. Power of Attorney given by a Bangladeshi citizen to another Bangladeshi citizen and to be used in Bangladesh
Power of Attorney (POA) is a document by which a Bangladeshi citizen temporarily living abroad appoints a person(s) in Bangladesh to manage his/her specific affair or represent him/her in Bangladesh.
For Bangladesh, Power of Attorney should follow the rules and procedures of the “Power of Attorney Act-2015’.
Requirements for POA:
- · Original and unsigned ‘Power of Attorney’ document.
- · The physical presence of the power giver(s) in the High Commission is a must.
- · The Consular Officer will examine the text of the ‘Power of Attorney’ document.
- · Power giver(s) should possess original valid passport and NID and valid visa/stay permit.
- · Copies of NID of Power receivers are required.

- · He/she should carry the Original valid passport with valid visa/stay permit and NID and submit copies of those documents.

Travel Permit (TP)
Expatriate Bangladeshi nationals whose passports have been expired, been lost, or damaged, may apply for a Travel Permit (Out Pass) to return to Bangladesh.
The ‘Travel Permit (TP) is valid for 3 months from the date of issuance.

Eligibility:

Validity:
The ‘No Visa Required for Travel to Bangladesh’ endorsement is valid as long as the passport remains valid on which it is affixed.
